Genoa bid farewell to the Amerigo Vespucci as it departed for the 2026 North America Campaign, with the Villaggio IN Italia set up at the Porto Antico welcoming thousands of visitors through onboard visits, institutional meetings and events dedicated to the sea, culture, innovation and Made in Italy. Among the highlights of the stop were the honours ceremony for the disembarkation of the War Flag of the 2nd Alpine Regiment, the event “From Leghorn to Jeans: a journey through Made in Italy”, the presentation of the 6th edition of the “Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour”, and the Departure Ceremony attended by leading civil and military authorities.

Baltimore welcomed the first US port of call of the 2026 North America Campaign during Sail250 Maryland & Airshow Baltimore, the major event that brought together historic tall ships, naval vessels and spectacular aerial displays to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. Through on-board visits, training activities and opportunities to engage with the public, Amerigo Vespucci shared the traditions and values of the Italian Navy with thousands of visitors, once again showcasing the story of Made in Italy to the world.

At the heart of the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States, Amerigo Vespucci played a leading role in SAIL4th 250, taking part in the spectacular 4 July Parade of Sail in New York Harbour. During her stay, the Ship hosted a rich programme of institutional meetings and initiatives showcasing Italian excellence, from the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit to "Vespucci & America's Cup", featuring the America's Cup Trophy on board, and the presentation of Vinitaly.USA. Alongside these institutional events, on-board visits and the participation of thousands of people along the Hudson River transformed the arrival of Amerigo Vespucci into a unique opportunity for dialogue and shared experiences between Italy and the United States.

In Boston, the fifth and final stop of Sail250, Amerigo Vespucci took part in a major maritime celebration that brought together tall ships, naval vessels, crews and visitors from around the world. From the spectacular Parade of Sail to on-board visits at Pier 5, and from meetings with the Italian community to exchanges with students from Harvard and MIT, the stop combined tradition, training and international dialogue. Together with the Cadets of the Naval Academy of Livorno, who took part in the educational and training activities throughout the visit, Amerigo Vespucci renewed a bond that spans the Atlantic, bringing Italy and the United States together through the shared culture of the sea.

At Québec City, the first Canadian stop of the 2026 North America Campaign, Amerigo Vespucci received an extraordinary welcome during the Rendez-vous Naval de Québec, the major event dedicated to tall ships and maritime culture. During her stay at Quai 22, more than 10,000 visitors had the opportunity to come aboard, turning the stop into a shared experience that brought together the Ship, the city and its people. Together with institutions, representatives of Italian excellence and the local community, Québec City celebrated the deep bond between Canada and Italy through the shared culture of the sea.

After sailing along the St Lawrence River, Amerigo Vespucci reached Montréal, the final stop of its journey in North America. During the stay, the Ship welcomed on board representatives from institutions, the scientific community, the Italian community and the world of sport, creating opportunities for exchange and shared experiences centred on education, innovation and Italian excellence. For the Cadets and crew, Montréal marked the conclusion of a journey across the continent, connecting with different cities and communities along the way. From here, Amerigo Vespucci returned to the Atlantic Ocean, beginning the voyage back to Italy.
